Being anonymous is great.
You’re enjoying anonymity right now, staring at my blog and being a shadow flipping through blog articles. You, (hopefully), don’t know me, or what the true purpose of this blog is. (that's a lie, of course you do, it's pretty obvious from the title that these blog posts are all about books. You still don't know who I am, however.) Believe me, by the end of this blog you still won’t know who I am. Some people love sports, others cooking, or art, or stamp collecting, or stalking. I love anonymity.
(Being truly mysterious is every paranoid person’s dream, and my goal is to achieve that.)

Buried-in-books was created to share creative ideas, book reviews, short stories, life experiences, vacations, and random thoughts from a writer’s perspective. It was made especially for readers (both avid and “lazy daisy”), writers, authors, or people who are just truly curious about the whole reading cult.

A bit of basic information about me?

I’ve been writing since the very, very young age of nine. My first “novel” (More like chicken scratches of scenes on pieces of paper that were held together by a clipboard) was based on my favorite movie at the time, The Runner from Ravenshead. (A child’s take on the Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, this movie is acted out by kids for kids.)
When my mom bought the movie for our family to watch while chilling at one of my dearly beloved grandmother’s houses, she never knew how much of an impression it would leave on my young mind. (or how many times I would force our family to watch it.)

I planned each of the scenes in the book out, did my writer’s research by watching trailers and clips on YouTube, and wrote the story from my favorite character Sam’s perspective.

I didn’t get very far.

I didn’t finish the novel.
And I didn’t get past the first scene.
Yet another example of me quitting a project.

Whenever I start a project, I start it with the knowledge that I probably will not ever 100% finish it. My short attention span has followed me relentlessly since childhood, stalking me and tearing my ideas and plans apart. I started this blog with the knowledge that I may never finish it, that it might burn out and die.
(*dramatic music needed here*)

A few facts about me?

(the above photo of selfie girl isn't me. Too bad, as I would give anything to be in Paris like her. I'll keep dreaming about that.)
I have a love affair with any shade of the color blue, the season of Summer, indie/pop music, books, open windows and fresh air, France in the summer, anywhere in the summer, hoodies, black Hummers and combat boots.
Winter, any food with cooked tomatoes (except pizza), and idiotic people repulse me.

Thanks for reading the first article of my fabulous (maybe?) and a tad bit disorganized (more like a lot) blog.
I’m going to re-conceal myself in anonymity, hiding yet again under a pile of books. Try to find me there, and you will become disoriented with the smell of old pages, trails of sentences, and magical worlds that famous authors have imagined.

Welcome to buried-in-books!! I'm very excited that you've read this far, and that maybe you'll continue reading.
